FAQ: Questions about Tarantula Pro


 

Q1: I'm facing many issues on Tarantula Pro, like double-clicking d-pad, reverted joystick, low polling rate, can't be recognized by GameSir Connect using dongle, etc.
A:Note: There're many bugs in early firmware versions of Tarantula Pro, both on dongle and controller itself, we suggest upgrade the controller & dongle firmware to the latest version first if you run into any trouble.

Q2: What Software should I use for Tarantula Pro, and why GameSir Nexus doesn't recognize it?
A: Please use GameSir Connect software to connect the controller via dongle or Cable in Xinput mode. The GameSir Connect software won't detect the controller if you're in DS/NS mode under Bluetooth Connection: 

Q3: Is it normal to have stick drift out of the box for Tarantula Pro when I put the initial deadzone on the GameSir Connect software to 0?

A: Yes, it's a perfect 0 deadzone in physical sense so the stick will become super sensitive. Set it to 3~5 should make it back to normal. 

Q4: I can’t connect Tarantula Pro to my device through Bluetooth/dongle and the indicator light keeps blinking slowly.

A: Hold the Pairing Button on the controller for 2 seconds to re-enter paring mode, the indicator light should be fast blinking; If it’s connecting to a dongle/receiver, we should also hold the pairing button on the dongle until it's fast blinking, to make them re-pair.

Q: I’m experiencing stick drift/trigger problems on Tarantula Pro, what do I do?

A: Please try Stick & Trigger Calibration according to the manual:

1. What platforms does Tarantula Pro support?

It supports PC, Switch, iOS, Android, and Steam.

2. Is it wired or wireless?

Tarantula Pro offers three connectivity options: Bluetooth, a wireless dongle for wireless connections, and Type-C for wired connections.

3. What is the speciality of the sticks?

The Tarantula Pro is equipped with the GameSir brand-new Mag-ResTM TMR Sticks which combines the precise performance and low power consumption of traditional potentiometer sticks with the high durability of Hall Effect sticks, ensuring a higher and more stable polling rate.

4. Does Tarantula Pro have analog trigger mode?

Yes, the Tarantula Pro has a Hall Effect analog trigger mode, perfect for racing games, which also supports changing to Hall Effect hair trigger mode for FPS games and action games via a key combo. In addition, gamers can also change the trigger gear to toggle between Hall effect trigger or micro switch trigger.

5. How many rumble motors in Tarantula Pro?

2 motors. Tarantula Pro is equipped with HD rumble motors, providing realistic and immersive haptic feedback.

6. Can I customize the lighting effect?

Yes, you can personalize the lighting effect, animation speed, brightness level, color value and saturation via holding M button and the right or the left stick or the D-pad on Tarantula Pro.

7. How many mappable buttons on Tarantula Pro?

There are 9 in total: R4, L4, C1, C2, C3, C4, T1, T2, and T3. Each of them can be mapped to a single button or multiple buttons (up to 12). The mappable options include: A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT, RT, LS, RS, View Button, Menu Button, D-pad, Left Stick, and Right Stick.

8. Does Tarantula Pro has Turbo function?

Yes, Tarantula Pro has turbo function with 4 modes: Slow(8Hz), Medium(12Hz), Fast(20Hz), and Off.

9. What is the function of the back button latches?

The back button latches enable gamers to enable or disable the back buttons according to their gaming style, preventing unintended input.

10. Can I change the face button layout?

Yes, the default is Xbox layout. You can change the layout by holding  for 2 seconds, until the gear rotate to change the layout and the key value.

11. What are the difference between Tarantula Pro and T3S?
